POTHOLES SHOULD VOTE

Dave Henderson wants to make local government 'beautifully boring' by focusing strictly on filled streets, reliable infrastructure, and customer service. If you value deep cavities in the asphalt, damaged rims, and blown tires, you must stop this man."

When we neglect our infrastructure under the guise of saving our taxpayers money, we are just forcing the citizens to pay the bill at the mechanic. I want to bring a beautifully boring approach back to local government where city council is focused on delivering exceptional basic services.

LET’S GET RID OF THE POTHOLE TAX

Think about what happens when you hit a crater on Timberlake Road and have to spend $200 replacing a tire. That is $200 you didn't spend at a local Lynchburg restaurant. It is $200 you didn't put into savings or spend on your family.

Now, multiply that by the roughly 60,000 drivers living in Lynchburg.

Because City Council has consistently talked about waste or fluff or tax reductions, our residents are collectively paying a hidden "Pothole Tax" worth millions of dollars every single year. If you want to save a couple cents on the real estate tax, potholes will figure out how to ‘sink’ your budget.

🕳️ The 86 List (Systematic Paving): In the restaurant industry, when you run out of an item, you "86" it. Dave is going to 86 the worst roads in Lynchburg by implementing an aggressive, data-driven paving schedule that prioritizes the secondary commercial corridors where actual citizens drive every day.

🕳️ The Service 'Shot Clock': If a citizen reports a pothole, it shouldn't sit on a desk for weeks. Dave will implement a strict service-delivery timeline for public works requests, treating taxpayers with the exact same urgency and respect as a customer sitting at a table.

🕳️ A Beautifully Boring Budget: Dave wants to ensure that our tax dollars are poured directly back into the core, boring services our citizens should expect: smooth roads, clean parks, and safe neighborhoods.

OPPORTUNITY COST CALCULATOR

Just how much is the status quo costing our city? Use the calculator below to estimate the collective damage and see all the incredible things Lynchburg could have funded instead if we just fixed the roads.
